How They Used To Sell It

Inspired to post this by a comment M.G. made on the link about perfume copyright in my previous post. The article contained a picture that showed a contemporary perfume advertisment with an unclad but no-vital-bits-visible model.

In my opinion a whole lot hotter than any perfume ads out there right now.

Yea, and that's actually my favorite perfume. There's a bottle up on my dresser as I type!

Yes. The purpose of perfume is to create anticipation, is it not?

Absolutely Bernita! It's all part of the packaging and of what we use to project what's under the wrappings - which can be a signal for anticipation or comfort or utter intimidation.

From this male's POV, I agree.

Be still my imagination, please.

That ad brought back memories. My grandmother used to keep a large bottle of Chanel No. 5 on her dresser (my grandparents lived in VIrginia but other side Lisa). She was a real style queen until the day she died. Used to tell us "Every woman should have a bottle of Chanel No. 5." When I went away to college, she sent me a bottle with a card that said "Dab behind your ear and on your wrists each day." As if it were a prescription!

Of course, I have no sense of smell so.......I have no idea what it smells like.

Much better. The other ad seems to say: "Wear this perfume, you'll get laid."

Guess what I'll bet that babe doesn't have to wear the perfume at all and she'll still get laid. She hangs out in front of Saks like that, she'll get more action than she ever would have imagined.

My mom uses No.5. I can't stand any perfume, but I can tolerate this one, probably because I've been used it as a kid.
